Brooklyn's 15 mo check up!

Sorry we have not been around. James was home for a week since he had leave for 2 wks. He left last Friday and our weekend was crazy busy! A little update on Brooklyn

Brooklyn is 15 mos today! She is 22 lbs and 31 in! Getting so big! Dr said she is doing great and growing perfect! He was thrilled to hear she has been off the bottle for a few weeks now. She eats everything and is saying about 4-6 words now. She is very smart though and understands lots. She will bring you her shoes, any toys you ask for and knows where her belly is to name a few things. She is also walking, running and climbing on everything now! She doesn't like the dr at all though- even when they weigh her she screams! She screamed through him checking her all out. He confirmed she is teething BAD! She has 4 teeth that are all the way through and another 4 including 2 molars that have popped through. Mainly on top, but the whole bottom of her gums are swollen! She had to get 2 shots which she cried since I was holding her still but didn't flinch with the shots. Then while waiting for the doc to sign a school form once she was finally calmed down she fell holding her cup and busted her chin and lip. I felt so horrible! Her whole visit was traumatic! She hates the Dr as it is!

She was doing better tonight but went to town on a teether for like 15 mins! LOL Hoping she sleeps well tonight as she was up for like 2 hrs last night! Ugh! So that's her update for now!

Update on us!

We have been busy for the last month and its starting to slow down... or maybe start up again! lol

We took a trip to Atlanta mid- January to say Goodbye to my beloved Grandfather. It was so wonderful to see all the family and rejoice in the wonderful life my grandfather lived. We truly miss him! Brendan also got to see snow for the 1st time so he loved that.

I then took a quick trip to TX to see James for the weekend. While there we attended our 1st Military Ball- we had a great time. It was such a nice weekend for us to be able to spend together pretty much alone!! We needed it after the crazy times through the holidays.

Then last weekend my mom, the kids and I went to Disney! We had such a great time. Brooklyn did pretty good- she doesn't like the characters at all but enjoyed playing and going on some rides!

Brendan started basketball so he is enjoying that every Sunday and now has started baseball so it will keep us busy every weekend! He also just received his Red Belt in Tae Kwon Do tonight! He is doing great in school and excels in all sports he does!

Brooklyn is doing great- she is getting so big. She is 14 mos now and walking/running everywhere. She is such a sweetheart but then can be so moody at the same time! She is learning more and more everyday and it amazes me to watch her figure things out.

James is in TX right now and we're currently trying to figure out what the future holds for all of us. He is due to get out of the Army this summer but we're still weighing options on what he may do- so stay tuned for more updates on that :o) He is actually coming home in a few days to spend about 10 days with us so we are very excited about that!

So that's it about us for now... oh about me- I just stay busy keeping up with the kids, work is crazy busy but not much new!

My princess was baptized today!

It was such a beautiful day. Brooklyn was baptized at New City Church this morning. Family & friends were there to share in the wonderful ceremony and lunch afterwards at a local Mexican Restaurant. It was a great ceremony even though she cried the second our Pastor took her which we knew would happen! Thanks to all that were there. We love you all.

Happy Halloween

We hope everyone had a great Halloween.
Brooklyn stayed home with me again today since her fever didn't break till last night. She was much better today- still moody, clingy and not fully herself till this afternoon. The fever is gone thankfully and she is getting back to normal- we're so happy!

We went to Brendan's school this morning to watch his parade in his costume then at about 4 pm we walked through the plaza next to our house as they had Trick or Treating- Brendan made out very good on candy there. Then he had a party at Tae Kwon Do from 5-6- more fun! We ate at my parents house and then walked around their neighborhood. Brooklyn was so good riding along in her stroller watching all the kids and her brother! Brendan got SO much candy- we went to a lot of houses and made it back to my parents house just in time for the rain to start coming down!

All in all it was a fun Halloween. Brooklyn was so tired by the time we got him she basically dove for her bed and went right to sleep!

Sick Baby Girl!

So Miss Brooklyn has been sick the past couple days. She came home from school on Monday with a fever and as of 1:30 pm it had spiked again to 103 degrees! She also has a yucky cough and ear infection! We're crossing out fingers that her temp will stay down once she is up tomorrow! I hate seeing her like this. She is not herself at all- she just layed on the floor this morning watching cartoons and she has Never done this! Send some get well vibes our way!!

Pumpkin Carving

So Miss Brooklyn is sick :( so she went to bed early tonight. Brendan and I decided to get our pumpkin and carve it! Brendan was such a big help and got most of the guts and seeds out. I then scraped the sides and got the rest out.

Brendan picked out a cute face for it and helped me trace it out and then cut everything out. He did a great job this year!! Here are some pics of the fun and of Brendan!

AHHHH eBay!!!

SO I don't buy on eBay too often but when I find something I want, I HAVE to have it!!! I found this dress and fell in love with it... I was watching it and decided to bid last minute... well somebody else was too. I set myself at a limit but as usual I went over!! Ugh!
Oh well Brooklyn is going to look so darn cute in the dress!! I can't wait to get it. Now I have to get a bow or something for her hair to go with it!!
Maybe Tiffany can make me one with her new skill!!

Why can't every night go so well?!

Most week nights I am going from the time we walk in the door till after 10 pm!
Tonight we came home, I put dinner in the oven and sat down to feed the baby. Brendan got all of his homework done fast and got in the shower. I got the baby ready for bed and then her and Brendan got to play for about 25 mins. She came crawling over and was so tired so I gave her a kiss and put her in bed at 7:30!!! She never goes to sleep this early.
After I put her down, our dinner was ready and Brendan & I got to eat and just hang out!! It was nice. Then we hung out some more while I got stuff ready for tomorrow. I was able to sit down about 8:30 for some computer/TV time.
Wow it was a great night!!! Now I just need to get to bed at a reasonable time!! It never happens!!! lol

Counting Down....& Great News!!!

So we have less then 2 months till James is home!! We are so excited. It's been such a busy year but it's almost over! AND Great news for James- he passed his sergeant exam! He hasn't been pinned Sgt yet but should be soon after he comes home! So happy for him as he worked his butt off for this and totally deserves it!! So now we have to decide what we will do. We're still not sure if he will re-up or what.

I'll keep everyone up on what he decides and when he will be home!! YAY!

It can never be just one thing!

So I am excited to get my blog started. It's been a long time coming... lol
Finally going to start it!

So today Brooklyn's school called me to come pick her up since she was sick (threw up twice). Drives me crazy as babies can throw for anything!! Even my dr. laughed about the policy as who knows what it could be. Well at least I got to come home for the afternoon to hang out with my baby girl and pick Brendan up early from school as a car rider. Brooklyn of course was fine the rest of the day and night so she will be back to school tomorrow at 12:30 pm so I can get some work done!

So it seems there can never be just one thing in my days that dont go smoothly!
My dad was admitted into the hospital today. He has been in quite a bit of pain so he finally decided to go into the hospital to figure out whats going on! Keep him in your prayers!! I will update on how he is.
